Giving Back

Community is at the heart of D’IYANU. One of our core values is “creating value within the community”. We succeed when our communities improve and ultimately thrive. As a result, we are passionate about investing in our youth and giving back to the African community. Within the US, we seek to invest in organizations empowering our youth. They are the key to the future, so we want to ensure that they are prepared to become successful leaders. In Africa, we aim to support organizations bridging the gap of education and healthcare.

To date, with the support of our customers, D’IYANU has donated over $60k both domestically and abroad through multiple organizations. We were also fortunate enough to be able to donate 20,000 masks to schools and our frontline workers here at home during the pandemic.

The Boy's & Girls Club of Philadelphia

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia’s impact in the lives of children spans 132 years, since its commencement in 1887. The franchise’s mission centers around inclusion--providing equal opportunities to children of all races, gender, ages, sexual orientation, religion and class.

Our donation and on-going commitment to the Boys & Girls Club of Philadelphia will benefit youth in the Philly area in need of social and academic resources. During COVID-19 school closings, the Boys & Girls Club supported working families and those without the financial means or time to support virtual learning.

"Since being founded by the water industry over 30 years ago, WaterAid has worked alongside partners in some of the poorest and most marginalized communities to reach over 21 million people with safe water and 18 million with sanitation.

WaterAid transforms lives by improving access to clean water, hygiene and sanitation in the world's poorest communities. We work with local partners and influence decision-makers to maximize our impact."

AMREF Health Africa

AMREF Health Africa is the largest Africa-based healthcare nonprofit, serving an average of nine million people per year across 35 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. They strengthen health care systems and train African health workers to respond to the continent’s most critical health challenges. Their approach is community-based and making the people they reach partners -- rather than beneficiaries. Over 97% of their global staff are Africans, so that they are always tackling African challenges with African expertise.

Thank you to one of our customers, Jasmine Clarisme for introducing us to this fantastic organization.
