Our Adinkra wisdom knot Africa map necklace in this gold plated stainless is a very unique way to rep the culture. The Adinkra symbol on the necklace is called NYANSAPO which means wisdom, ingenuity, intelligence and patience.

The Adinkra symbols come from the Ashanti tribe who migrated to Ghana. The symbols were often used in pottery, fabric, walls and other architectural structures. These symbols convey traditional messages of wisdom and serve as guidance.

The necklace in the photo looks better than what I received. It was all gold and you had to really look at it to see the wisdom knot symbol. The photo looks like it had a black/frosty background. I like the look of the necklace in the photo and would have kept it or ordered another one if it looked like that. Overall, I wasn’t pleased with this necklace.

I thought that the chain was a little thin at first but it seems to hold up well. The pendant still looks new even with daily use. I touch it up with a clean cloth when it gets smudged. Great to wear with a black tee to make it stand out.
